This season, silver’s not staying quiet - it’s taking up space.
At my last show, someone called one of my Thames rings “stunning” - then immediately tried one on and said, “It’s really cool… like wearable architecture.” Another paused at my Pebble ring and simply said, “show-stopping.” I won’t lie, I blushed a little.
I don’t design based on trends - but every now and then, the stars align. And this fall, the trends just so happen to echo the very things I’ve been making for years. Sculptural forms, bold silver, thoughtful design with a hint of play - it’s all there.
So if you’re seeing these shapes and materials everywhere right now, just know it’s a happy coincidence - one that makes me smile every time I step back into the studio.
Here’s a look at what’s trending - and how I’m interpreting it through Silver Sculptor’s lens.
Sculptural Silhouettes & Chunky Forms
Minimalism is growing curves and edges. This fall is all about rings that feel like small sculptures, with bold volume and architectural weight.
Take the Pebble Ring - it’s one of my most-loved pieces. Inspired by natural erosion and fluid, natural contours, it’s chunky without being clunky. A quiet statement for those who like their jewelry to feel *strong* rather than sparkly.
And the Domed Layer Ring - that one gets called “industrial,” “creative,” and even “best in show.” It's got this bold structure that feels both engineered and organic. Like a piece of architecture that’s meant to be worn - like a structure made to move with you, not just be admired from afar.
Silver’s Quiet Comeback
Gold might still be having its influencer moment, but with prices climbing steadily and showing no signs of slowing down, silver is stepping back into the spotlight. It’s cooler-toned, bolder in form, and more forgiving when you want something both modern and timeless.
This is where I live. Almost everything I make is in sterling silver - and not just because it suits my aesthetic. Silver reflects light in a more subtle way. It pairs well with architectural design and lets form lead the story. It doesn’t scream for attention, but it still turns heads.
Sustainable Materials, Always
Jewelry’s not just about beauty anymore - it’s about values. And that’s not new for me.
My Square Layer Ring with a lab-created sapphire is a good example of how sustainability and style can meet in one design. I use lab-grown and ethically sourced stones wherever I can, and most of my silver is recycled. Because looking good shouldn't come at the cost of the planet.
Jewelry That Adapts (and Surprises)
Fall’s also about flexibility - convertible designs, reversible necklaces, and pieces that work harder without shouting louder.
Like the Thames Necklace, which has a different stone on each side - lab-created emerald on one, moissanite on the other. Flip it depending on your mood. A little playful. A little symbolic. Customers love the duality of it. I was inspired by the Albert Bridge in London for the collection that this necklace belongs to and I love that it takes me right back to my hometown every time I wear it.
Asymmetry & Play
There’s something liberating about breaking the rules of symmetry. And this season, earrings are the playground.
My Lattice Studs and Formations studs are both part of this movement - subtle enough to wear every day, but interesting enough to make people do a double take. I’ve heard everything from “those are fun shapes” to “so elegant in a subtle way.”
What’s Next?
I’ve been experimenting with even more dimensional pieces, I just got some geometric casts back from the caster, and I can’t wait to show you. And I've been working on some cuff bracelets. I have a trade show at the beginning of August, so I'll have them ready to show you by then!
Fall always feels like a season of turning inward - but this year, it also feels like stepping out a little bolder. If you’re feeling the same way, maybe one of these designs will meet you there.
And if there’s a shape or story you want to see made into metal just let me know! I'm currently making a custom necklace for a customer on Etsy, he wants a dodecahedron. I'll share that when it's ready!
