One of my repeat customers lives in Texas on a ranch. She approached me for the first time in 2011 and asked me to help her make a pair of cufflinks for her groom on their wedding day using the logo for her ranch that they use to brand their cattle with.
This was the photo of one cufflinks that she already had that she wanted me to replicate.
I was excited to embark on such a special gift for her to give her husband. I created the piece using Precious Metal Clay (PMC), I actually used PMC sheet to cut out the design. She was over the moon with it and I think it came out really well.
Fast forward to a year later and she got back in touch. This time she wanted the same logo, but made into a scarf slide.
Recently she got in touch because she wanted to commission another piece, but this time for a friend of hers that also owns a ranch. She wanted a necklace with the brand of her friend’s ranch. The design was two question marks facing one another. Very simple, but very effective design. So, I decided to make it using PMC again, this time using the actual clay and a rubber stamp that I created. I decided to emboss the logo so that it stood out from the background, rather than being embedded into the base like I do with the handprint jewelry. Other than that, it is in fact the same process (you can watch a video of how I make the handprint jewelry here ).
It came out really lovely and my customer’s friend loves it! Here is what my customer said about the process!
“This is my third purchase from Silver Sculptor and this one is just as fabulous as the last two. All of my purchases have been custom work, and Joanne nails it every time. Thanks Joanne!”
